Traditional Korean Wedding

Traditional Korean Wedding

Continue from last chapter, after our Korean wedding ceremony ends and greeting with all the guests, we will head to another small hall for the traditional wedding ceremony (Pyebaek ceremony) which only invites closed family.

My father in law actually invites my friends and family as well as he thought it will be great to witness and experienced my traditional Korean wedding together (I was so touching!).

Same as the first wedding ceremony, there will be a staff side by side to guide you all the process. So, let’s go!

Firstly, we bow to his parents.
Holding a white cloths to catch the chestnuts and red dates
Chestnuts represents son and Red dates represents daughter
Bow to my parents

For my parents, we only bow and they will give us “ang pau” as a wedding gift.

Once both side parents are done, it will their side of closed family turn.

From here, I will share the photos with short caption to understand what is the process after that.

Pour drinks to each other cups (ours was empty as they still comply with covid rule)
Cross arm drink it (fakely)
Biting the red dates, who got the seeds who in charged of the household. (Guess who has it? xD)
Giving me all the “ang pau” given from his families.
Voilà! End of the ceremony

Photo sessions again!

Here’s a quick peek of our happy face when his uncle told him “Happy wife, happy life”!
